I started with Westcan in October 2010 as a mechanic. After three months, I moved into the role of Lead Hand on the night shift. I had always wanted to become a journeyman welder, but the opportunity never presented itself with my previous employer. Westcan’s Apprenticeship Program has allowed me to go to school while continuing to earn an income and I will receive my Journeyman Welder certification later this year. I can honestly say that Westcan is the best company I have ever worked for. Prior to this, I had never been with a company for longer than two years, and I have been at Westcan for over five years now. The support and encouragement I have received from my manager and the company in my time here has been amazing – I know that my hard work is appreciated and recognized, and it motivates me to come to work each day and put in 100 percent.
