I first joined Westcan Bulk Transport in 2001 as a driver, and after about a year, moved into a Driver Trainer role. After two years with the company, I was approached by my Terminal Manager to move into a Dispatch position at our Moose Jaw terminal, as he knew of my dispatch experience with a previous employer. In December 2005, I had the opportunity to relocate to our Saskatoon terminal as a Dispatcher, and later moved into our Operations Centre as a Planner. I worked in the Operations Centre until 2014, when I relocated back to Moose Jaw to take on the role of Operations Supervisor.
Westcan has continued to support me and challenge me to succeed over the course of my career, and I feel fortunate to have had so many advancement opportunities in my time with the company. I participated in Westcan’s Emerging Leadership Program in 2014 and I am currently working to complete my CITT designation. Everyone I’ve worked with is approachable and willing to sit down with you if you have questions, including our senior leadership team. The wealth of knowledge and the support network here at Westcan are second to none and they really empower you to progress and succeed in whatever career path you choose.
