I was hired on with Westcan in August 2012 through the Novice Driver Program. Being new to the trucking industry, I was grateful to be given the opportunity. The Novice Program provided me with the knowledge to be a safe and confident driver. In 2014, shortly after returning to work from Maternity leave, I felt my work life balance needed a revamp and an opportunity arose in the Accounts Payable department. Westcan supported my decision for the career change and again provided me with all the training I needed to fulfill my new position. In April 2016, I was entrusted with my newest role as the Edmonton Safety Coordinator, another example of the support provided to employees by Westcan. I have seen firsthand Westcan’s belief in helping employees grow within the company and live up to their potential.
Westcan is a very family-oriented company; my family is a case in point. I am continually appreciative of the opportunities and education Westcan has provided me. Westcan has been a great company to work for. My husband and I both look forward to growing and being part of the Westcan family for many more years to come.
